The Food and Drug Administration is modernizing its administrative regulations to explicitly provide for electronic submission of citizen petitions, according to a notice published in the Dec. 19 Federal Register (
The FDA said the current regulation doesn’t recognize electronic methods for submitting citizen petitions and this action “will enable efficiency and ease in the filing of citizen petitions.”
The rule change is effective Dec. 19.
