Fixes to a massive California data privacy law eases some concerns for clinical trials but may not go far enough in removing roadblocks to research, a leading medical research attorney told Bloomberg Law.
California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) signed into law Sept. 23 the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (S.B. 1121), which provides a number of carve-outs to the sweeping consumer privacy law enacted in June (A.B. 375).
