Bristol-Myers Voluntarily Recalls Six Lots Of Blood Clot Drug Coumadin for Injection

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. June 30 said it is voluntarily recalling six lots of Coumadin for injection, 5 mg single-use vials in the U.S.

This recall is a precautionary measure because visible particulate matter was found in a small number of unreleased samples of Coumadin for injection, the company said. The tablet version of this product isn’t affected by the recall.

Coumadin for injection is used to treat blood clots and to lower the chance of blood clots forming in the body, Bristol-Myers said. It is typically administered in a hospital setting by health-care professionals to patients not able to receive ...
