More than 50 organizations, ranging from Bristol Meyers Squibb to AirBnB to the NIH, have committed to former Vice President Joe Biden’s goal of ending cancer.
The Biden Cancer Summit is the first major event of the Biden Cancer Initiative, which Biden and his wife Jill started last summer to improve cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, research, and care.
The flagship event in Washington brought together cancer researchers, patient groups, and drug companies such as Pfizer Inc. Agency leaders, such as the head of the Food and Drug Administration’s oncology programs, also spoke at the summit.
