The FDA is warning consumers about unsubstantiated results from genetic testing kits that determine how effective drugs are.
Some patients are switching medications thanks to the results of unauthorized tests, causing the Food and Drug Administration to warn consumers Nov. 1 about the health risks associated with relying on their results.
These kits claim to tell consumers whether they are predisposed to any genetic diseases, their reactions to certain medications, or whether certain drugs might be ineffective thanks to their genes.
