Benicar Suits Head for New Jersey; Plaintiffs Say Drug Causes GI Problems

Federal suits by plaintiffs who allege the blood pressure medication Benicar causes gastrointestinal problems will proceed before Judge Robert B. Kugler of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey (In re Benicar (Olmesartan) Prod. Liab. Litig., 2015 BL 95813, J.P.M.L., 2606, 4/3/15

The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said April 3 that shared factual issues in the cases warrant centralization.

“Issues concerning the development, manufacture, regulatory approval, labeling and marketing of the drugs thus are common to all actions,” the order said.
