Baxter International, Inc. May 13 successfully fended off a move by Becton, Dickinson and Co. (BD) and its CareFusion Corp. subsidiary to have a court dismiss infringement claims related to Baxter’s medical infusion pumps patents (Baxter Int’l, Inc. v. CareFusion Corp., 2016 BL 153611, N.D. Ill., 1:15-cv-09986, 5/13/16).
The BD defendants asked the court to dismiss Baxter’s infringement claims for two out of the three patents at issue in the case because those patents claimed unpatentable abstract ideas.
