Bausch Health’s Solta unit said closely held Sciton, Inc.’s aesthetic products infringed two patents related to laser-treatment technologies for skin care.
The Sciton products targeted by the complaint include the Halo hybrid fractional laser and ProFractional.
Solta Medical, Inc.’s products include Fraxel and Clear+Brilliant, laser treatments that help prevent visible signs of aging, according to a complaint filed Jan. 17 in federal court in Wilmington, Del.
The patents at issue expired in October, more than two years after Solta sent Sciton a letter alleging infringement and offering a license, the complaint said.
