An attorneys’ fee dispute by a DePuy hip implant settlement plaintiff will get another look (Dobbs v. DePuy Orthopedics, Inc., 2016 BL 399686, 7th Cir., No. 16-2135, 12/1/16).
Dustan Dobbs’s attorneys weren’t necessarily entitled to a full 35 percent contingency fee in the product liability settlement, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said Dec. 1.
That’s because the district court didn’t properly analyze whether the full fee was reasonable, the court said.
