AstraZeneca asked a judge to push back by two weeks a government-issued deadline to resume drug discounts to certain pharmacies the company had cut off last year.
The request comes as part of a lawsuit AstraZeneca brought against the Department of Health and Human Services over an advisory opinion that drugmakers must provide discounts to pharmacies in contract with low-income health centers. Letters issued May 17 from the HHS directed AstraZeneca and five other companies to resume discounts by June 1 to those pharmacies or face monetary penalties.
