Doctors and abortion rights advocates urged a House panel to stop attempts to further restrict abortion access across the country.
“You are all in a position to act. Be creative, be bold and do something. Act like people’s lives depend on you because they do,” Bhavik Kumar, medical director for primary and trans care at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, told lawmakers in an Oversight and Reform Committee hearing analyzing the possible impact on patients if a nationwide abortion ban were enacted.
