AbbVie’s Trade Secrets Case Against Alvotech Tossed by Judge

A federal judge in Chicago dismissed a lawsuit in which AbbVie claimed Iceland-based Alvotech HF stole trade secrets related to the blockbuster immune-suppressing drug Humira.

  • U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber ruled Wednesday that a U.S. court doesn’t have the jurisdiction to hear allegations that a former AbbVie employee in Singapore stole information for use by Alvotech in Iceland
    • AbbVie claimed that Alvotech hired the Singapore employee to steal secrets related to the commercial manufacture of Humira and then help assist in the opening of a facility in Iceland
