8,000 Volunteers in Week One of NIH Precision Medicine Study

About 8,000 Americans volunteered to donate their health data in the first week of an NIH project to spur targeted treatments known as precision medicine.

The All of Us Research Project opened for national enrollment May 6, culminating more than three years of work by the National Institutes of Health on what NIH Director Francis Collins has described as one of the agency’s most ambitious projects to date. The NIH provided enrollment updates to Bloomberg Law for the first week after the launch.
