Solvay, Honeywell Sued Over New Jersey Water Contamination (1)

Solvay Specialty Polymers USA LLC has refused to investigate and clean up PFAS contamination at its site in New Jersey, despite the harm it has caused to citizens and the environment, the state says in its lawsuit filed Tuesday.

PFAS are per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances known as “forever chemicals” due to their ability to persist in the environment.

There’s no more concentrated finding of perfluorononanoic acid — a type of PFAS — in New Jersey as in and around Solvay’s site in Gloucester County, N.J., according to the lawsuit filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Gloucester County. ...
