New Yorkers v. Election Board:

  • A group of New York residents claim that Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis’ Staten Island district shuts out minority votes, in a case that offers Democrats a path to a more favorable congressional map ahead of the midterms. GOP election officials say the suit’s frivolous.
  • A bench trial is scheduled for Monday before Judge Jeffrey Pearlman.
