Welcome to a new year. To usher it in, we’ve rounded up litigation we’re keeping eyes on. Below are six New York cases that could have wide-reaching impacts in 2026.
New Yorkers v. Election Board:
- A group of New York residents claim that Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis’ Staten Island district shuts out minority votes, in a case that offers Democrats a path to a more favorable congressional map ahead of the midterms. GOP election officials say the suit’s frivolous.
