Second Circuit judges on Tuesday suggested a lower court may have improperly tossed a challenge to New York City’s gun regulations, including a restriction on carrying more than one concealed handgun at a time.
The lower court’s “reasoning was, basically, you can defend yourself with one gun,” said Judge Michael Park. “I just don’t see how that is a Bruen-based analysis,” he said, referring to the US Supreme Court’s 2022 ruling establishing a historical test for gun restrictions.
