Pro-AI Policies Embraced by Court Advisory Panel: New York Brief

New York’s court system took a step toward embracing AI, with a judicial committee proposing judges allow liberal use of the technology from attorneys preparing court papers, my colleague Brian Dowling reports.

“The best way to combat AI-generated hallucinations in court filings is not through the imposition of a ban on AI use or a disclosure requirement, but rather through a certification, implicit in the act of signing the paper, that the paper does not contain any false or fictitious material,” the New York State Unified Court System’s AI advisory committee said in a report on Thursday.
