Palin ponders juror fairness in NYT rematch

Sarah Palin and I were early.

With the doors to Judge Jed Rakoff‘s courtroom still locked Monday morning, she reflected on the eight-year road to a defamation retrial against the New York Times. Her lawyers have been “fighting for justice for a very long time,” Palin told me in the court hallway.

Did she believe she’d find impartial jurors in New York, far from her home turf of Alaska? “That’s a good question,” Palin said. After pausing a beat, the onetime vice presidential candidate sounded a hopeful note: “Americans in general” believe we should have a “fair media.” ...
