Supreme Court Boosts GOP’s Chances of Keeping NYC House Seat

The only Republican member of New York City’s delegation to Congress is likely to win reelection this fall after the US Supreme Court preserved her district, blocking a ruling by a state judge who had invalidated it as an unlawful racial gerrymander.

The high court’s decision is a win for Republicans and Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R), who’s in her third term representing New York’s 11th District, which envelops Staten Island and part of southwestern Brooklyn.
