A $2.9 billion commuter rail project to connect
The MTA, which oversees the city’s transit network, including the Metro-North Railroad, had planned to finish construction by the end of 2027 to link that commuter line to Manhattan’s Penn Station. It will now be fully completed in the second quarter of 2030 because Amtrak, which owns the railroad tracks, hasn’t provided sufficient access to their infrastructure to conduct work,
