They are two New Yorkers with markedly different world views. Donald Trump has called Zohran Mamdani a “communist.” Mamdani has called Trump’s agenda “fascism.” Now, they will meet for the first time.
“This is an opportunity to make the case for New Yorkers,” Mamdani said at a Thursday press conference, saying he’d focus on affordability when he sits down in the White House. Trump has threatened to pull (more) funding from the city, which relies on the federal government for 8.3% of its spending.
