The City Council convinced a judge to continue keeping ICE off Rikers, one of several actions this week underscoring growing tensions between President Donald Trump’s former home and his administration’s immigration actions.

The Manhattan state court judge on Tuesday extended her temporary block on the plan to place a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement office at the notorious city jail, my colleague Beth Wang reports. New York Supreme Court Justice Mary Rosado signaled she may decide next week whether she’ll indefinitely block ICE from Rikers.
