NYC Mayoral Candidate Jim Walden Ends His ‘Futile’ Campaign

Longshot independent candidate Jim Walden dropped out of the New York City mayoral race and urged other lagging candidates to make way for a single challenger to take on Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani.

Walden said the only way to beat Mamdani, a democratic socialist, is to clear the field of all candidates except the best-placed alternative to the state Assembly Member from Queens. Walden called on the other candidates to agree to drop out unless they become the most competitive option.
