NY-NJ Tunnel Funds Frozen by Trump Administration to Resume (1)

A judge said federal funds withheld from the $16 billion Gateway tunnel under the Hudson River should resume by Tuesday, ending a government freeze that led to a work shutdown for one of the biggest US infrastructure projects.

“We are now in a world where the suspension is lifted and the payments are going through the process they usually go through,” US District Judge Jeannette Vargas said during a court hearing Friday. She said it was incumbent on the government to make sure the US Department of Transportation and Treasury are processing payments “in good faith.”
