The alleged founder of the Sinaloa drug cartel was ordered held without bail in New York after he was sent by Mexico to face US charges tied to the slaying of a US Drug Enforcement Administration agent that was dramatized in the “Narcos” series on Netflix.
Rafael Caro Quintero, 72, who is suspected of ordering a hit on US Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique Camarena in 1985, pleaded not guilty to a host of US charges in federal court in Brooklyn, New York.
