Meta Loses Bid for Full 9th Cir. Review in Stock Suit Over Data

The Ninth Circuit on Monday denied Meta Platforms Inc.'s request that the full appeals court take a fresh look at a securities fraud suit over data-harvesting scandals involving political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica and other apps.

The three judges who recently revived some of the claims also declined to rehear the case themselves. Judge Patrick J. Bumatay, the panel member who dissented from the conclusion that the investors could proceed, voted in favor of rehearing en banc.
