Tax hikes are coming. But they might not be Mamdani’s.

That’s the message from New York state legislators, as mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani pushes a tax-the-rich plan to bankroll free city buses and childcare with just three weeks to election day. Much of his ambitious plan hinges on agreement from Albany, which may prove a heavy lift.
