Mamdani Picks Ex-Transport Chief, Former Budget Director for MTA

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani picked Janette Sadik-Khan, a former transportation official in the Bloomberg administration, and Melanie Hartzog, the city’s former budget director, to the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Mamdani nominated Sadik-Khan and Hartzog to the board on Tuesday, and the selections are subject to state Senate approval. The MTA oversees the city’s subways, buses and commuter rail lines.
