Maduro Prosecution Lands in SDNY
Nicolás Maduro is set to appear in Manhattan federal court today after US forces seized the Venezuelan president and brought him to New York.
The ousted strongman is facing charges of overseeing a 25-year conspiracy to traffic cocaine into the US with the help of terrorist groups.
The indictment, filed by Manhattan US Attorney Jay Clayton in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York and made public Jan. 3, also charges Maduro’s wife and son. Read the indictment.
