Hamptons Marina’s Illegal Tax Claims Against Town Will Proceed

Southampton, N.Y., failed to fully free itself from a proposed class action alleging the town charged exorbitant fees for marina improvements after a federal trial court ruled that most of the lawsuit can go forward.

Marina and bar owner 31 Alanson Lane LLC sued to challenge the town’s requirement that it pay a $35,280 dimensional fee based on the square footage of improvements it was making to its docks.
