Halmar and Skanska, a co-venture dubbed the Penn Transformation Partners, will serve as the master developer on renovating New York’s Penn Station, the busiest passenger-rail hub in the US.
Amtrak, which owns Penn Station and is overseeing the project, announced the selection Wednesday. The Halmar-Skanska consortium beat out two other teams led by Macquarie and Fengate to design and build the major project. Officials anticipate breaking ground by the end of 2027.
