Gov. Hochul Announces Drought Warning for 12 New York Counties

Governor Kathy Hochul, with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, announces that a drought warning has been issued in 12 counties in the Adirondack and Southern Tier regions.

• A drought watch was expanded to include six counties in the Susquehanna region
• A drought watch or warning is now in effect for the entire state except for New York City and Westchester County, where drought conditions are determined by New York City in coordination with DEC
