Dolan’s MSG Wins Sanctions Against Charles Oakley

Charles Oakley’s long-running suit against Madison Square Garden over his ejection from the arena lives to see another day, but the former Knick was slapped with sanctions for losing text messages relevant to the case.

Manhattan federal Judge Richard Sullivan said Wednesday he’d give an “adverse inference” instruction to jurors at a potential trial, allowing them to infer the messages would have been unfavorable to Oakley. The instruction could hurt Oakley’s case, but his attorneys at Wigdor LLP told me Oakley “looks forward” to trial.
