Budget deal eases discovery requirements

New York has a new state budget — or at least a “general agreement.”

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) announced a $254 billion state budget deal four weeks after the statutory deadline Monday evening. “We still got it done,” she told an audience of clapping aides, “despite the chaos and uncertainty” from Republican-controlled Washington.
