A Bronx man was found guilty by a jury of operating an illegal police outpost in Manhattan’s Chinatown at the direction of the Chinese government.

Jianwang “Harry” Lu, 64, was convicted Wednesday of acting as an unregistered agent of the People’s Republic of China and obstruction. The case was the first time criminal charges have been brought in connection with such a police outpost, said prosecutors in the office of Brooklyn US Attorney Joseph Nocella.
