Antitrust push fades as end-of-session starts

Antitrust is dead. Consumer protection lives.

That’s the status of bills in Albany impacting attorneys as legislators scramble to pass priorities before the legislative session ends.

A bill that would ease the path for suits against corporate giants like Amazon is losing steam, my colleague Zach Williams reports. The legislation was touted as a way for blue New York to keep the Biden antitrust agenda alive in the Trump era, but on Thursday a key state Democrat signaled lawmakers likely can’t work out the details before they go home in four weeks.
