Attorney General Letitia James will argue today that acting Albany US Attorney John Sarcone’s appointment is invalid, on the heels of other rulings disqualifying Trump administration prosecutors.
For the president, it’s a chance to stanch the losing streak after the 3rd Circuit said his administration unlawfully named Alina Habba as acting New Jersey US attorney.
For James, a ruling against Sarcone would mark her second win in quick succession. A federal judge last week disqualified Virginia US Attorney Lindsey Halligan, tossing Halligan’s charges against James.
