Attorney General Letitia James sued anti-immigration nonprofit VDARE, launching a court battle with a conservative organization that echoes her case against the NRA.
The couple that ran VDARE, founder Peter Brimelow and wife Lydia Brimelow, used the tax-exempt charity to divert some $2 million to themselves and their families, James said in a complaint Wednesday. A $1.4 million West Virginia “castle complex” was among their big-budget items, according to the Manhattan state court filing.
