‘Ageless’ Enforcer Who Helped Tame Microsoft Now Eyes Big Tech

Iowa’s Tom Miller, who will soon become the longest-ever serving state attorney general, dates his decades of successful multistate investigations back to a 1977 Oldsmobile advertisement for a “rocket” engine.

Miller helped get General Motors Co. to settle claims it misled customers with false advertising before going on to take on everyone from Big Tobacco to Microsoft in the decades that followed.

Now, in what could prove to be his curtain call and toughest case yet, the 74-year-old state attorney general has set his sights on the market power of big technology companies like Alphabet Inc.'s Google and Facebook Inc....
