Symantec, ESET Dodge Cybersecurity Testing Conspiracy Claims

Symantec Corp. has beaten an antitrust lawsuit claiming it conspired with a standards-setting organization to ensure that stress tests of its cybersecurity products revealed their protocols in advance.

The suit targeted Symantec, antivirus company ESET LLC, and Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization Inc. It accused them of adopting standards that require “advance disclosure of a test plan” and refusing to deal with any cybersecurity tester that doesn’t help them “cheat.”
