White & Case Hires Activism, M&A Lawyers from Cadwalader

White & Case LLP has hired a team of shareholder activism lawyers led by Richard Brand from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.

Others arriving as part of the move are Kiran Kadekar, Jaye Kasper and Erica Hogan, who had all advised companies and activist investors on shareholder engagement and mergers and acquisitions, according to a statement Thursday.

Activist investors are expected to push more companies to explore sales, breakups or asset disposals this year. This week has already brought a flurry of such transactions from large companies that have been facing pressure from activist investors.
