Vitamin Shoppe Sued for Records Over Planned Sale to Liberty Tax

Vitamin Shoppe Inc. was hit with a pair of Delaware lawsuits seeking corporate records that will allegedly show its planned $208 million sale to Liberty Tax Inc. would harm public shareholders while benefiting private equity insiders.

The proposed merger is one of several major deals announced by Liberty Tax after B. Riley Financial and Vintage Capital Management LLC partnered last year to acquire a 37% stake in the tax preparation franchiser.
