Veritas Capital to Buy Perspecta for $7.1 Billion (1)

Perspecta Inc., a provider of information technology services to public sector agencies, has agreed to be acquired by private investment firm Veritas Capital in an all-cash deal valued at $7.1 billion.

Under terms of the agreement, Perspecta stockholders will receive $29.35 per share in cash, a 50% premium to its closing price on Nov. 6, before media reports emerged about a potential sale. Shares closed at $26.25 in New York on Tuesday, giving the company a market value of $4.2 billion.
