Veritas Founder’s Estate Can Sue Over Dyal Stake Sale (Correct)

Veritas Capital founder Robert McKeon’s estate can sue the private equity firm over the 2020 deal in which it sold a minority stake to Dyal Capital Partners for $725 million, a New York appeals court ruled.

The estate of McKeon, who died by suicide in 2012, claims Veritas, Chief Executive Officer Ramzi Musallam,Managing PartnerHugh Evans and partner Benjamin Polk violated a deal to seek the estate’s consent for any action that would adversely affect its interest and pay it 10% of the proceeds of any “capital event.”
