UK’s Next Lottery Operator Allwyn Eyes US With Illinois Deal

Allwyn International AS, the next operator of the UK’s National Lottery, has reached a deal to expand into the US through the acquisition of the Illinois Lottery.

Prague-based Allwyn, which will take over the contract to run the UK lottery starting 2024, will buy Camelot Lottery Solutions group, which includes the Illinois operator, from the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, comes just weeks after Allwyn announced its purchase of UK lottery operator Camelot, an affiliate of Camelot Lottery Solutions.
