UBS Appoints Alvarez as Head of Permanent Capital Solutions

UBS Group AG elevated Carlos Alvarez to global head of permanent capital solutions focusing on dealmaking of special purpose acquisition companies, according to a memo seen by Bloomberg.

Alvarez will report to Jeff Mortara and Gareth McCartney, global co-heads of equity capital markets, the memo showed. A representative for UBS confirmed the content of the memo.

Alvarez will liaise the bank’s ECM teams in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well as Asia Pacific for its special purpose acquisition company business. He joined UBS in 2018 from Deutsche Bank AG.
