Uber Buys Routematch Software to Bolster Transit Technology

Uber Technologies Inc. said it acquired Atlanta-based Routematch Software Inc. to bolster services offered to public transit agencies. Deal terms were not disclosed.

Founded about two decades ago and built with no venture funding, Routematch provides software to more than 500 transit agencies to handle functions including payments, schedule routes, send notifications and accommodate wheelchairs and other special needs. All 170 employees will join Uber, Routematch Chief Executive Officer Pepper Harward said.
