U.S. Bancorp Profit, 2026 Outlook Surpass Analyst Estimates (1)

U.S. Bancorp reported profit and a forecast for revenue that beat analysts’ estimates as lower interest rates make deposits cheaper and boost yields on securities the bank holds.

Adjusted fourth-quarter earnings per share were $1.26, compared with the $1.19 average estimate of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. The bank said this year’s revenue would increase 4% to 6%, compared with the 4.5% analysts were predicting.

“Record consumer deposits this quarter and effective balance sheet remixing contributed to net interest income growth and margin expansion,” Chief Executive Officer Gunjan Kedia said in a statement Tuesday.
