The tables may be starting to turn back in favor of traditional initial public offerings as U.S. regulators place greater scrutiny on special purpose acquisition companies. Fundraising volume for IPOs outpaced levels for SPACs in April for the first time since September. Only 38 blank-check deals were announced in the period with a combined value of $8.65 billion, the slowest month for transactions since July and August of last year.
