Spain’s ACS Said to Reaffirm Interest in Atlantia Highway Unit

Spanish construction company Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA on Friday reaffirmed its interest in buying Atlantia SpA’s Italian toll-road unit, according to people familiar with the matter.

In a second letter to Atlantia, Florentino Perez, ACS’s chairman and top shareholder, stressed that the lead role in any possible deal would need to be under Italian control, adding ACS’s interest isn’t hostile, the people said, asking not to be named because the letter isn’t public.

The letter also reiterates that ACS doesn’t want to interfere with a rival bid from Italian state-backed lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA ...
